The October Employee spotlight shines on Dan Crawford, our VP of Sales based in Orlando. He got his start in the business over 20 years ago when a friend asked him if he wanted to move to Florida and sell trade shows. Dan’s response? “That sounds great! What’s a trade show?”
Dan grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina, but don’t call him a Tar Heel – he’s a lifelong NC State Wolfpack fan and graduate. As you might expect of someone living in the Sunshine State, Dan enjoys spending his free time out on his boat, working on his golf game and enjoying the perks of being a grandfather to Charlie, who was born this year. Another fun fact: Before becoming an event professional, Dan had a stint working at a nuclear power plant.
Dan says he really enjoys developing new customers into long term business partners and friends. “Opening a show is great…I enjoy the camaraderie and the dedication by our team to deliver a great product to customers.” When asked about any advice for other event professionals during this downtime? Dan says he can’t wait for the industry to get back in gear again but until then try to keep yourself busy. “Do something that you’ve never had time for before. Like gardening, or drive somewhere cool. When trade shows start back up, there won’t be time.”
