Honored by Dallas CVB
Irving, Texas – Oct. 30, 2014 – Dianne Bailey, director of customer account management for The Expo Group and one of the company’s original employees, has been honored by the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau with the 12th Annual LaVonne Rea Exceptional Customer Service Award.
“Customer service is an extension of hospitality,” Dianne says. “It is important to personalize the Customer Experience, making sure each customer has a great experience every time, no matter what. Listen, support and appreciate your customer. Treat people well with confidence and a great service experience will follow.”
Dianne loves working with people, teaching, training, sharing and helping others. She says a positive attitude, self-confidence and a desire to help others are the most important attributes in a service professional. She was presented her award at the DCVB’s Annual Meeting at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in downtown Dallas. The award is named after LaVonne Rea, a long-time employee of DCVB who retired after 26 years of selling Dallas as the ideal destination. This special award annually honors an individual in the hospitality industry who excels in customer service, or who constantly goes above and beyond to make a client happy and satisfied with their Dallas experience.
“Great customer service means focusing on the customer and treating them as if they were your best friend, even the difficult ones,” Dianne says. She advises her team of service professionals to listen for the customer’s real need, always remembering you are delivering an emotion through a service. It is with this outlook that Dianne also serves her internal customers, every one of us at The Expo Group.
“Our company has grown almost 1,000% with Dianne’s influence on our clients and on two generations of employees learning customer service at her feet,” says The Expo Group Founder and CEO Ray Pekowski. “From the very beginning, Dianne’s natural desire to help people was evident. It didn’t matter if the customer was spending $100 or $100,000 Dianne always took the time to be sure everything they needed was being done for them.”
Dianne first served as a Customer Account Manager then Team Leader before becoming director of the department. In nominating Dianne for the Service Award, The Expo Group employees communicated how amazing she is at her job and how caring she is of them as people.
“Each day, seeing and working with my team and co-workers, sharing experiences, new ideas, successes, improvements and changes – it is all so fulfilling and makes me happy,” Dianne says. “We share a mutual foundation in our visions, values, goals and honoring God in our work. We are a big family and care about each other.”
