The Expo Group has acquired Educe LLC, which was founded in 2013 by JoAnn Peroutka and Sarah Winkler, who each have over 20 years of experience in higher education events.
Like Level5 Events by The Expo Group, Educe focused on the need for those advancing higher education to create experiences that ring true and inspire deeper connections.
This acquisition was driven by a desire for all parties to offer a more holistic suite of services. It joins two top executives in higher education events, Joann and Sarah, on the same team with Michael Preston, EVP, National Accounts, and Gary Wokas, EVP & General Manager — both founders of Level5 Events. For The Expo Group, this is part of our long-term strategy to grow in the right places at the right time with the right people.
For all clients of Educe and Level5 Events, the new combined resources mean even stronger operational capabilities and ability to execute on events strategy, storytelling, design and production. We pull together the right teams to reduce client concerns, for complex, large-scale events to intimate meetings across the country.
The expanded connections, experience and both creative and logistical resources immediately and exponentially increase our offerings to those in higher education.

The Expo Group acquired Allied Convention Service, commonly known as Brede/Allied out of Orlando. The acquisition includes physical assets, intellectual property, the facility in Orlando and the opportunity to serve new customers and shows. All Allied employees have been made offers of employment.
No. Brede Exposition Services will continue to operate its other locations. The Expo Group and Brede have long enjoyed a cooperative business relationship and we expect that to continue as The Expo Group integrates Allied in Orlando.
The Expo Group’s long-term strategic plan calls an expansion in the Southeast Region a top priority. Allied has a rich history in this industry and has maintained a strong business portfolio for 30 years. This acquisition gives The Expo Group an expanded footprint in the Southeast to service current and future customers. By bringing all of the expertise and services together, we’re positioning ourselves for greater success and opportunity within the market.
This acquisition creates more opportunity for clients to experience The Expo Group and its array of services that simplify the work of trade show and event managers, exhibitors and corporate marketers. More clients now have access to The Expo Group’s proprietary tools such as Single Source® and the ExpoSuite™ portfolio of technology solutions, plus enhanced creative strategy and Level5 Events offerings. This change means The Expo Group is now even more competitive than before. We’ve strengthened our position as the top service provider, which translates to greater opportunities for everyone.
The Expo Group’s new office and distribution center in Orlando includes 160,000 square feet and a marshaling yard. It is just moments away from the Orange County Convention Center and provides easy access to major thoroughfares reaching venues in Tampa, Miami and Atlanta and the rest of the region. This is our fourth major hub across the country, joining Dallas, our Headquarters, Las Vegas in the West and Chicago in the North.
Our warehousing and printing facilities will immediately serve each other as local needs arise. Our 12-month integration plan will be communicated to employees and clients as we bring our teams together. Operations and service teams will continue to be led by Jon Mills, and the Sales team will begin to report to The Expo Group Chief Sales Officer Toby Purdy.
Continuing his role, Jon Mills will continue his executive and operational role for The Expo Group in Orlando and report directly to President and COO Randy Pekowski. Charlie Premone will be part of the executive team and support employees and clients.
We all will retain a tight focus on our mission of Helping People Perform at a Higher Level, which means continual improvement, enhanced technology capabilities and commitment to servant leadership. Our company cultures are aligned, which was pertinent to even start down the path to acquisition. Our values of Integrity, Compassion and Excellence will be even more prevalent with the additional team members who already live those principles.
The Expo Group has extended employment offers to all Allied employees. This represents a 25% increase over the company’s current workforce. Maximizing efficiencies and exceeding service expectations remain priorities, and the company will integrate activities and procedures where it makes sense.
